    Hardy plants

I could not resist taking photos of this tiny pansy plant. It has been around since November, self-sown from my spring front door arrangement and nested itself perfectly next to my May Flowers rose. Survives frost, foot of snow, goes limp and then just opens up with yet another bloom at the first ray of sun. I thought it was a metaphor for my blog – gone missing, dormant, and then just when you think it is over, pops back again! And this time for good. January, after the saturated colors of Christmas decorations, is all about cool, calm metallic shimmer. Brushed silver, blue and cream ceramics, matte white stones.
