    Weathered wood

    I have always been a fan of weathered wood, reclaimed wood, re-purposed wood. The idea for this post came to me last weekend, wandering around the neighborhood, looking into front yards and gardens for a photo inspiration (no flowers yet!). I saw a handmade object/sculpture and a planter made of old, weathered cedar branches (sorry no photo) and just minutes later this great door to a local restaurant Journeyman. Here are some of my favorite recent finds.

    Blue, cool and collected

    I am new to Instagram, very new (that’s what you call it when you have two followers, right?). Gets better – I only figured out how to use hashtag to post to a challenge by Design Sponge, #DSnicerug. I just could not help it, seeing all those fabulous images pouring in every minute. Love rugs so I mustered all my courage, rounded up TC, and took a photo of my Designer’s Guild rug. TC obliged by gracefully curling her tail to a pattern.     Best of Danish lighting

    Looking back at my (winning!) pinboard on Remodelista, The Great Danes, I stopped at a striking photo of a pendant light. Following the crumb trail I ended up at Lightyears. What caught my eye was a design by Cecilie Manz. But there were so many great designs I could not pick my favorite for this post. I needed a break. OK, I needed a distraction for a bit. I turned into a new issue of Kinfolk magazine I did not get to read yet. The imagery is so soothing. It turned few pages and there it was, The Great Danes article featuring Cecilie Manz.
