    Kinfolk Home and Sunday tea ritual

    This is my set up for the golden hour. My Sunday tea o’clock is not really 5pm, sorry folks. It is some time around 3:30 or 4pm in the afternoon, come fall or winter, when the sun starts setting slowly.  It might be just after an afternoon walk, field trip out of town, or a natural break working on a project.  You pause, look out the window, let your mind wander for a moment.  This is my favorite time to open up a new book.  My copy of the Kinfolk Home just arrived last Friday, in time for my Sunday afternoon ritual.     This year has been my year of all things and people Australian.  Finally made it to Australia in June (see earlier post) after hearing for years from our friend Jamie about the Aussie way of life, and Brisbane and Byron Bay especially.  The Design Files have been filling in my interior design craving blanks for years.   I also subscribe now to Real Living and Peppermint (discovered this one at Brisbane airport for the first time).  And now, as of last week, I can also say I learned from the most inspired and well known Australian stylist!  I signed up for the class with The School within 10 minutes of seeing the posting on Instagram.…

    A quick dispatch to announce: yes, the cold weather is here, and yes, the pie season is here.
